Other Relationships
ASA also has relationships with the following community outreach organizations:
The Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA) is a state non-profit organization dedicated to providing education financing and information programs to benefit Massachusetts families and students. Beyond college savings plans, low-cost loans, and consolidation options, MEFA, with the backing of ASA, offers free financial aid seminars and a telephone hotline to answer financial aid questions. ASA supports MEFA’s efforts to disseminate this valuable information to Massachusetts borrowers through the provision of intellectual, financial, and physical resources.
Mapping Your Future was founded by ASA in conjunction with other members of the financial aid industry to provide free information and resources on college, careers, financial aid, and financial literacy services nationwide. In addition to online student loan counseling, Mapping Your Future hosts going2college.org, which features comprehensive information about career possibilities, planning for higher education, making the right college choice, and paying for college. Going2college.org offers local resources on these topics for all U.S. states and territories as well as the District of Columbia. For each area, the site lists the types of federal and state scholarships and grants available, and which organizations and schools offer early awareness and intervention programs for students. The site places special emphasis resources for low-income and first-generation college students. ASA provides significant and sustained sponsorship to Mapping Your Future.
