FFELP Administration
American Student Assistance is an administrator of the Federal Family Education Loan Program. We service students, higher education institutions and education lenders nationwide. Our designated regions are Massachusetts and Washington, D.C.
As a FFELP administrator, we:
- – help student loan borrowers to successfully manage higher education debt
- – administer the federal guarantee, making more than $1 billion in student loans possible annually by ensuring education lenders against the financial risk of default
- – provide centralized escrow and disbursement services to schools and lenders
- – ensure that FFELP school and lender participants understand the program’s federal regulations
- – provide free consultation and training to financial aid professionals on teaching students financial literacy, regulatory compliance, and general student loan procedures
