For over 50 years, American Student Assistance has helped the Education Department successfully manage the nation’s federal student loan portfolio. As an administrator of the Federal Family Education Loan Program, we operate a Federal Fund (owned and regulated by the Education Department) to finance the costs of default aversion and lender claims associated with defaulted loans.
